Campaign FAQ
NEXT is TXST’s new brand campaign designed to highlight and solidify TXST’s position as a top-tier public state university that provides exceptional experiences for students from all walks of life. The NEXT campaign is also a recruitment tool to successfully attract and engage a diverse group of potential students and alums.
Additionally:
- NEXT isn’t just a slogan or logo. It represents our history, where we are right now, and the direction we are headed in.
- NEXT isn’t just something we say. It’s the actions we take individually and as a community to create a better world.
- NEXT doesn’t mean we’re waiting for our turn. Bobcats have — and continue to — accomplish the amazing.
- NEXT is our students who make it happen now.
- NEXT is our alums who go out into the world and achieve.
- NEXT is our researchers and faculty creating solutions for the next great opportunity.
-
Why was TXST NEXT created?
Prior to 2020, external marketing research revealed that many Texans knew little about Texas State University. We developed TXST NEXT to enlighten the public on the TXST experience and our dedication to serving the people of Texas.
-
Do I have to use TXST branding on everything?
Yes
-
How long will NEXT be around?
TXST NEXT is a long-term awareness campaign that will guide our marketing efforts for years to come.
-
Has the logo changed?
The only change made to the Primary Texas State University logo is the removal of the Rising STAR of Texas tagline.
A TXST NEXT campaign mark is available in the NEXT toolkit, but it is not replacing the Primary Texas State University logo.
-
Have our colors changed?
No. Maroon and gold will always be our school colors.
However, a prominent feature of TXST NEXT is the use of our supporting colors. These colors were inspired by the nature, architecture, culture, and people of Central Texas. NEXT’s strong use of color centers us within our home, represents the diversity of our community, and distinguishes us from the crowd of largely two-color university brands.
-
Why are we using light leaks on photos?
The thoughtful use of light leaks gives our professional photography a bright, warm feeling that captures the natural vibrancy of our university. It replicates the feeling you get when you step onto the bustling Quad, the energy of striding up the Alkek stairs, and the pure joy of a packed Sewell Park on graduation day.
-
Can I use NEXT on promo items/merchandise?
Yes, we encourage you to use TXST NEXT graphics on items like stickers, T-shirts, pencils, reusable water bottles, and more.
-
